Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment is back with their new flick Student Of The Year which released this friday in all over the world.This is first time when Karan Johar has made any film without his very favourite actor Shahrukh Khan.After the release of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,Karan committed that he will not direct any film without Shahrukh Khan.But this time he is back with a new gang with a youthfull romance.But we can`t forgett Shahrukh`s production house Red Chillies Entertainment is co-producing this film with Karan Johar`s banner Dharma Production.
SCRIPT
Karan Johar`s story is very youthfull.His story is not all about the love and romance,it has the feelings of true friendship and father-son relationship.Karan has mixed his college masala in new dish.Student of the year is a story of a School (St.Terresa) which organises a competition named "Student Of The Year" from last 25 years.Story turns arround three friends Rahul Nanda (Varun Dhawan),Ayushman (Siddharth Malhotra) And Shanaya Singhaniya (Aliya Bhatt).Shanaya and Rahul is in a relationship but Rahul is not serious about the affair.But Abhimanyu truly loves Shanaya.Karan has added a huge dose of triangle affair in the film.
Rensil D`silva`s screenplay has some ups and downs in the film.First half is outstanding,but there are some strech scenes in second half.Some scenes made this film very entertaining.Especially the "Gangajal" scene is extraodinary.Niranjan Iyengar`s dialogues suits to the film.He penned very youthfull dialogues with strong punch lines.
STAR PERFORMANCES
Karan has cast all new actors for the film.Director turned actor Sidharth Malhotra is extraodinary in the role of ambitious Abhimanyu.His action and dancing skills are up to the mark in the film.Varun Dhawan,another new comer who played Rahul looked damn good in the film.His acting skills and physique has collected lots of claps from the audience.Aaliya Bhatt,the leading lady of the film,did an confident debut.She lived the role of Shanaya Singhaniya with great efforts.Especially in romantic scenes she was looking great.She stunned the silver screen with a two piece bikiny scene.Ram Kapoor is good in the role of Rohan`s heartless father.Rishi Kapoor is extraodinary in the character of Gay Dean.Ronit Roy is brilliant as football coach.All the actors has given their best.
MUSIC AND OTHER ASPECTS
Vishal and Shekhar has composed music and background score for the film.All the songs of the film are class appealing.Ishq Wala Love song is good,but lyrics are very lazy.Radha,disco deewane and Ratta Maar are well written and well composed.Costumes for the film are designed by Manish Malhotra.His costumes suits to the every character of the film.Deepa Bhatia`s editing is not very sharp.Ayanka Bose`s cinematography is on high level.Especially,she captured all the sports scenes with great creativity.
DIRECTION
Karan Johar`s direction is very good.After Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,it is his second youthfull film.His narration style picked the lazy screenplay in few scenes.Karan has taken extraodinary work from all his three newcomers.
BOX OFFICE PERDICTION
Student of the year has collected 30 crore rupees in its opening weekend.These are huge collections for a film,which has all newcomers.One thing is obvious that Karan Johar`s star power worked on the box office.It will be profit for Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar.In weekdays,it will also do huge business.

Watch student of the year if you wants to watch a youthfull cinema with huge emotions.
